Norma Marie King Lawless was born on April 4, 1930, in Rosiclare, IL. Died peacefully in her home in
Crossville, TN on September 1, 2021. She lived in Portage, IN for 62 years and was very active as a
childcare worker, waitress, bookkeeper, Sunday School teacher, homemaker, loving wife, mother and
Grandmother. She loved the outdoors and spent much time gardening and fishing. She loved her God
and was a Prayer Warrior. She was preceded in death by her husband James Aubrey Lawless; parents,
Floyd King and Hildred Kayler King; siblings Wanda King Kinscherff (John), Kenneth Karl King, Russell
Wayne King (Ruth). She is survived by daughter Janis Kay Lawless Smith Dorstewitz (William); Step
Daughter Helen Varnell Cummins (James); Grandchildren Ronald Wayne Smith and Valerie Lynn Smith
James (Jennifer); Great Grandchildren Hollis Smith, Jett James and Ava James; Step Grandchildren Todd
Dorstewitz (Alicia), Troy Dorstewitz (Gail), Tracy Dorstewitz (Chuck Midgett); and Step Great
Grandchildren Teryn Mergen, Aric Dorstewitz, Emily Midgett, Adam Dorstewitz, Lily Dorstewitz, Keely
Dorstewitz and Brenna Dorstewitz. She had many nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of
Life on September 25, 2021 at the Crossville First United Methodist Church in Crossville, TN with
visitation at 1:00 pm and the service at 2:00 pm. A private burial will be in Carrsville, KY on September
26, 2021.
